Background of the Study
Training needs assessment (TNA) is a systematic process used by organizations to identify gaps in employee knowledge, skills, and competencies. This process helps ensure that training programs are targeted and effective, leading to enhanced employee performance and organizational productivity. The Dangote Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Nigeria, places significant emphasis on workforce productivity, recognizing that the development of its employees is essential for achieving business success.
In Kano State, where Dangote Group has substantial operations, understanding the training needs of employees and the alignment of training programs with these needs is vital. By identifying the specific skills gaps in the workforce, Dangote can tailor its training programs to enhance employee capabilities, increase productivity, and contribute to the overall success of the organization. However, there is limited research on how effectively the training needs assessment process is carried out in the Dangote Group in Kano State. This study aims to evaluate the training needs assessment process at Dangote Group and its impact on workforce productivity.
